Neshoba Central Girls 43, CCHS 30
The Cleveland Central High School Lady Wolves lost to the Neshoba Central High School Lady Rockets Friday in Region 3-5A action in Philadelphia.
CCHS fell to 20-5 and finished region play with a 4-2 record. The Lady Wolves are the No. 2 seed in the region tournament at Canton High School. They will take on Neshoba Central again tonight in the first round at 6 p.m.
Ashleigh McKinney scored 14 points to lead the Lady Wolves.
Neshoba Central Boys 78, CCHS 59
The Neshoba Central High School Rockets defeated the Cleveland Central High School Wolves Friday in Region 3-5A action in Philadelphia.
CCHS fell to 14-13 with a 2-4 mark in the region. The Wolves will be a No. 3 seed heading into the region tournament in Canton. The Wolves will take on the Rockets again tonight in the first round at 7:30 p.m.
Jamal Anderson scored 20 points, pulled down five rebounds and blocked two shots to lead CCHS, followed by Joshua Kirkham with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists and Marcus Franklin Jr. with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Gentry Girls 64, Shaw 34
The Shaw High School Lady Hawks were blown out by the Gentry High School Lady Rams Friday in Indianola.
Katelyn Coleman scored 16 points to lead the Lady Hawks, followed by Shakenya Cooper with 13 points.
Gentry Boys 64, Shaw 49
The Shaw High School Hawks lost to the Gentry High School Rams Friday in Indianola.
Orlando Truss scored 15 points to lead Shaw, followed by Montrelli Finley, Jr. with 13 points.
West Bolivar Boys 48, Leflore County 29
The West Bolivar High School Eagles defeated the Leflore County High School Tigers Friday in Region 6-1A action at Itta Bena.
Shaw Girls 58, West Bolivar 42
The Shaw High School Lady Hawks defeated the West Bolivar High School Eagles in Region 6-1A action Saturday in Rosedale.
West Bolivar fell to 12-16 with a 6-4 mark in the region, while Shaw improved to 11-16 with a 7-3 mark in the region.
Natalie Calmese scored 13 points to lead West Bolivar, followed by Akayla Smith with 12 points and 10 rebounds and Kelsey Phillips with 12 points.
Shaw Boys 51, West Bolivar 42
The Shaw High School Hawks picked up a win over the West Bolivar High School Eagles in Region 6-1A action Saturday in Rosedale.
Shaw improved to 18-9 with a 10-0 mark in the region, while West Bolivar fell to 12-13 with an 8-2 mark in the region.
Montrelli Finley, Jr. scored 20 points to lead the Hawks, followed by Orlando Truss with 11 points and Jamarion Walker with 10 points.
