Narlon Ray Prewitt, 67, of Cleveland passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020, at his home.
Visitation was Saturday, January 11, 2020, from noon-2 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.
A Celebration of Life service followed at 2 p.m. in Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in North Cleveland Cemetery. Rev. Gaby Hays officiated the service.
Ray was born on January 15, 1952, to Walter Junior and Berda Gay (Willard) Prewitt in Cleveland. He was a member of Yale Street Baptist where he sang in the choir and worked in the church office. Ray was a fun-loving individual who never met a stranger. He was very appreciative of the honorary deputy status with the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department. Ray enjoyed expressing his faith to others at every opportunity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Berda Prewitt; and a sister Connie June Prewitt.
He is survived by his two sisters, Laura Theresa Grantha, and Helen Gay Prewitt, both of Cleveland; two nephews, Billy W. Morse and Michael W. (Stace) Morse, both of Cleveland; four great-nieces and nephews, Ashley Morse, Allison Morse, Heather Lishman, and Taylor Morse, all of Cleveland.
Pallbearers were David Williams, Kevin Williams, Charles Weeks, Ralph Rush, Kevin Williams, Ricky Berryhill and Taylor Morse.
Memorials may be made to Yale Street Baptist Church.
