Ben Campbell, 96, of Memphis passed away on Sunday, June 3, at the Carriage Court of Memphis Assisted Living, Memphis, TN.
Born on February 12, 1922, in Oxford, to the late Luther Campbell and Roberta Campbell, Ben proudly served in the United States Army in World War II.
He was honorably discharged in 1946.
He is preceded in death by his father Luther Campbell; mother Roberta Campbell; stepmother Alberta Campbell; sisters Robessie Smith, Doris Jean Logan; and brother James Campbell.
He is survived by his wife Estella Campbell of Memphis; a daughter Berita Campbell of Chicago; brother, LC Campbell of Chicago; sister DeVoyce C. Morris of Mound Bayou; stepson LC Gordon of Memphis; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, church and community family members and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, June 8, 2018, from 4-6 p.m. at the Forest Hill Midtown Funeral Home, 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd., Memphis, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 3 p.m. at St. Matthews MB Church, 2016 Pendleton Street, Memphis, TN.
Burial will follow at a later date in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill/Irene Road, Memphis, TN
