Berda Gay Prewitt, 89, of Cleveland passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at the Bolivar Medical Center Long Term Care Facility.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the Cleveland Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the New Cleveland Cemetery. Rev. Gabby Hays and Rev. John Thomas will officiate the services.
Berda was born on October 18, 1927, to Benny and Nora (Robins) Willard in Bolivar County. She was a retired telephone operator, loving housewife and mother. Berda enjoyed sewing, fishing, attending church, working the garden and visiting with friends and family. She was a member of Yale Street Baptist Church.
Berda was preceded in death by her parents Benny and Nora Willard; her husband Walter Junior Prewitt; her daughter Connie June Prewitt; her sisters Dale Spears, Juanita Murphy, Jeanetta Ruth Willard and Norma Scott Willard; her brothers Larry Willard, James Willard, Leon Willard, Cecil Willard, Harold Willard and Benard Willard.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hudson, Charles Weeks, Ralph Rush, Tommy Fortenberry, Taylor Morse and Matthew Lishman.
Berda is survived by daughter Theresa Grantham of Cleveland; son Ray Prewitt of Cleveland; daughter Gay Prewitt of Cleveland; brother Leaton Willard of Southaven; grandsons Michael Morse and Billy Morse, both of Cleveland; great-grandchildren Ashley Morse, Allison Morse, Heather Lishman and Taylor Morse; great-great-grandchildren William Fortenberry, Sadie Fortenberry, Eli Fortenberry, Reyes Moran, Asher Lishman and Quin Lishman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
