Ruby Mae “Lilo” Pettis Bradford

Mrs. Ruby Mae “Lilo” Pettis Bradford was born on August 1, 1937, to the late Zannie and Reber “Honey” Pettis in Mound Bayou. She was the sixth of seven children.
Ruby dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Green MB Church in Mound Bayou. She also attended Mound Bayou Public Schools.
In 1958, she married Leroy Bradford Sr., of Shelby, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by five siblings Odell Pettis Harris, Claude Pettis, Ora Bell Pettis, Louisa Johnson, and Luther Pettis; and two children Joyce Marie Pettis and Jerome Timothy Bradford.
On Saturday, March 3, 2018, she departed this life at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Ruby’s loving memories will be cherished by her children, Leroy (Masie) Bradford, Dozelle (Mark) Williams, William (Linda) Bradford, Elaine (James) Woods and Alex D. House; one brother Jefferson Ellis Pettis of Maywood, IL, one sister-in-law Lucille Pettis of Mound Bayou; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside service honoring the life of Mrs. Ruby Bradford will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Jerusalem MB Church Cemetery in Mound Bayou, MS.
