Nena Pennington Melton and Jimmie Melton Jr. of Drew announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Anna Melton of Drew to Andrew Bennett of Avalon, son of Bobby Bennett and Cindy Jackson Bennett of Avalon.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Ann Word Pennington and Kenneth Pennington and the late Elizabeth Chandler Melton and Jimmie Lane Melton Sr.

She is a graduate of North Sunflower Academy; Mississippi Delta Community College with an A.A. in English; and Delta State University with a B.S.E. in Elementary Education and M.Ed. in Elementary Education. She will graduate in December 2017 with a specialist in Supervision and Administration.

She is a member of the BSU and Phi Mu Fraternity. She is also a member of the honor societies of Phi Theta Kappa, Lambda Iota Tau, Kappa Delta Pi and Omicron Delta Kappa.

She is also a member of Drew Baptist Church.

She is employed as an elementary teacher and Beautycounter Consultant.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Bryan and Bettye Tingle Jackson of Avalon and the late Gary and Lela “Codie” Thompson Bennett.

He is a graduate of Winona Christian School; Holmes Community College with a A.A. in PreMed; and Hinds Community College with a A.A. in Applied Sciences: Physical Therapy Assistant.

He is a member of the BSU and Wesley Foundation. He is also a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

He is employed as a medical equipment technician in pursuit of PTA licensure.

Wedding vows will be exchanged in a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Drew Baptist Church.

A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. All family and friends are invited to attend.
