Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Bethel AME Church in Mound Bayou with Rev. Horace McKay officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at Byas Funeral Home in Cleveland and an hour prior to the service Saturday.
Survivors include sons David Lee Bell of Winstonville and Boney Bell of Evanston, IL; daughters Willie D. Halman of St. Lauderdale, FL, Elizabeth Tillman of Mound Bayou, Josphine Pips of Chicago, Francis Townsend of Winstonville, Mary Alice Campbell of Merriville, IN, Evelina George of Mound Bayou and Merlon Harper of Atlanta; sister Ruthie M. Ward of Mound Bayou; 29 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.

Willie Earl “Doe Doe” Holton was born October 22, 1961 to the late Raymond Holton Sr. and Elease B. Holton. He died Thursday, January 4, 2018, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
He is survived by his mother Elease B. Holton; sisters Mary Emmanuel, Mary Garrett, Bessie Arrington, Pauline Holton, Barbara Holton, Velma Holton, Lisa Holton and Celesta Rodgers; brothers George Thompson Jr., Raymond Holton Jr., David Holton, Paul Holton and Freddie Holton; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 13, 2018, at The Greater New Kingdom M.B. Church at 2 p.m.
Visitation will be Friday, January 12, 2018, from 2–5 p.m. at Brinson Funeral Home in Cleveland

Charles “Chuck” William Dean Jr.

Our beloved husband, father and “Pop Daddy” Captain Charles “Chuck” William Dean Jr. passed peacefully January 2, 2018.
His wife Mary Claire McHardy Dean; children Charles William “Will” Dean III, Duke Cunningham Dean, James Walker Dean, Claire Michie Dean, John Curtis Shields Dean, Matthew “Matt” Thomas Dean and Patrick McHardy Dean; and grandchildren Camryn D’Shea Dean, Duke William Dean and Michaela James Dean await their family’s reunion in heaven.
A celebration of life mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church.
A visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church and a fellowship luncheon will follow in the church parish center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sav-A-Life in Cleveland.

Gough-Davis to lead MLK Day parade

Dr. Nora Gough-Davis will be the grand marshal at this year’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Parade.
Gough-Davis said, "I’m more than honored to be named the grand marshal of the parade. My father had the honor of being named grand marshal of this very same parade before he passed away and I can remember how excited he was."

Elizabeth Ann Seymore Barnes Durastanti, 82, of Shaw passed away on January 8, 2018, at her home in Shaw.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Services will follow beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Holtz and Rev. Charles Young officiating. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery.
Elizabeth was born on April 27, 1935, to Harvey Daniel Seymore and Lillie Mae Crowe Seymore in Shaw. She spent her time watching gospel shows on the television, reading a good book, or traveling to enjoy a museum. Many years ago, she wrote songs for a recording studio. Elizabeth had a love for music, literature, and reading.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey Seymore and Lillie Mae Seymore; both her husbands Robert Barnes, Jr. and Albert Durastanti; children Leslie Barnes Reynolds, John Michael Barnes, Beverly Barnes Smith, Serina Durastanti Fioranelli, and Loretta Durastanti Harrell; grandchildren Gary Edward Wells Jr. and Ronald Joseph “Ron” Durastanti Jr.; and brother Gary Wayne Seymore Sr.
Elizabeth is survived by her children Robin Campbell of Shaw and Joe Durastanti of Madison; grandchildren Brandi Gianini Frazier, Candice Campbell, Phillip Daniel Gianini, John Gianini, Elizabeth Renee Barnes Sayre, Melissa Reynolds, Jessica Barnes Gaston, Paul Fioranelli and Chandler Harrell; sisters Ruth McCullough of Hederson, TN, and Joyce Robertson and Sandra Morris both of Pearl; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Byas Funeral Home in Clevelnad.
Survivors include mother Barbara J. Tanner of Shelby; sons, Darryl Pleasant of Tupelo and Derrell Pleasant of Goodlettsville, TN; daughters Shaquita Pleasant of Goodlettsville, TN, Sherrell Pleasant and Sherese Alexander, both of Shelby; brothers Ollie Tanner of Anchorage, AK, Dennie Tanner of Tupelo, Kristy Tanner of Fort Worth, TX, David Tanner Jr. and Terrell Tanner, both of Shelby; sisters Nellie Pleasant of Clarksdale, Barbara A. Larry Davon Tyler III died Sunday, December 31, 2017.
Visitation will be from 11a.m.-noon Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Cleveland Central High School followed by the funeral service. Elder Eugene Prater will officiate the service and burial will be in Winstonville Cemetery under the direction of Woolf Funeral Home of Clarksdale.
He was born in Clarksdaale on September 24, 2000, to Amelia Wilson Tyler and Larry Tyler II.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents Paris Martin, W.M. Tyler Jr., Laura Tyler, Evelyn Norman Lewis, Moses Isaac Lewis Sr., Mary Tremble Wilson and Webb Wilson Sr.
He is survived by his mother Amelia S. Wilson Tyler of Cleveland; his father Larry D. Tyler II of Fayette; grandparents Cremaya and Willis Wilson Sr. of Winstonville, Rosie Marie and Larry Tyler I of Fayette; great-grandmothers Georgia Lee Martin of Natchez and Cora Wilson of Winstonville; brothers Emmanuel C. Tyler of Cleveland, Jervon Shelvy of Tennessee and Carlos Bass of Cleveland; sisters LarRita Shelvy of Fayette and Amiracle L. Foster; three uncles; five aunts; and a mass of cousins, other relatives, friends, classmates, teammates, coaches and mentors.
