More veterans meetings on the horizon for July Featured

Last month the Mississippi Veteran's Affairs Bureau held a town hall meeting in Cleveland to help veterans and their families get information about benefits and opportunities that might be available. The Bolivar Commercial has received numerous phone calls and emails from people who are curious about future events or would like additional information. According to Veteran's Outreach Coordinator Larry Harris other events are planned for July, including in Clarksdale, Indianola and possibly Mound Bayou. Dates have not been set yet. Any veteran or family member who has questions about the event or needs to speak with a VA representative can get additional information by visiting Harris at his office in Kent Wyatt Hall, room 162, on the Delta State University campus, or by calling him directly at (662) 846-4613. Veterans and families can also visit the County Veteran's Service Office, located at 113 South Davis Street Highway 61 in Cleveland. The office is open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. To contact the office directly, call (662) 843-2471 or email the one of the Veteran's Service Officers, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
